Alabama CHOOSE Act

Pay with ESA funds

Alabama's CHOOSE Act gives homeschool families $2,000 per student per year (up to $4,000 per family) to spend on curriculum and educational items. Laue Labs is an approved Education Service Provider, so Alabama families will be able to buy our engineering kits with ESA dollars once ClassWallet registration is complete.

How it will work

1. Get your ESA funds

Alabama families apply for the CHOOSE Act through the state's application. Home-education students receive $2,000 each per year, up to $4,000 per family, loaded onto a ClassWallet account.

2. Find Laue Labs

Laue Labs is approved and will appear in the Education Service Provider directory on ClassWallet under curriculum and educational items once registration is complete.

3. Buy kits with ESA dollars

Check out through ClassWallet and your ESA funds go directly to us. No reimbursement forms, no waiting — the state handles payment.

What ESA funds cover at Laue Labs

We applied under the "Textbooks, Curriculum, or Educational Items" category, so everything we sell qualifies:

Eligible purchases

  • Engineering project packs ($7–$39) — 31 hands-on builds with full PDF guides, from the Animatronic Hand to the Light-Following Robot
  • High-school packs ($17–$59) — 18 advanced builds including the Star Tracker and Muon Detector
  • Birch chassis parts kit ($51) — the physical Light-Following Robot chassis
  • Build Club ($9/mo) — monthly build subscription
  • Classroom packs — multi-seat bundles for co-ops and microschools

Two students' ESA allotments ($4,000) would cover every pack we sell, several times over.

Questions

Is Laue Labs approved yet?

Yes. Laue Labs was approved as an Education Service Provider on October 27, 2026. ClassWallet registration is in progress — check back here, and we'll update this page the day ESA payments go live.

Do I need to do anything now?

If you haven't applied for CHOOSE Act funds yet, start at classwallet.com/alchoose. If you're already funded, join our waitlist below and we'll email you the moment we're in the vendor directory.

I'm not in Alabama — does this apply to me?

The CHOOSE Act is Alabama-only. Other states run their own ESA programs with different vendor lists — contact us if you'd like us to look into yours.

Can I still buy normally?

Yes — our shop takes cards as usual. ESA purchasing is an additional option for Alabama families, not a replacement.
